Single Farm Coffees

Currently, we have over 30 single farmers who participate in our program, The Lulo Promise. In this program, we help farmers find a market for their high quality, single farm coffees. Up to 88% of the coffee value is passed to the farmers. An absolute transparency in pricing and traceability is what The Lulo Promise all about

OBJECTIVE:

Connecting buyers around the world with Ethiopian, single farm, specialty coffee producers

The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority has been introducing legislations that are hoped to improve the livelihood of smallholder coffee growers. One of the latest legislation gives a tax-free license to farmers with two hectares and above to process and export their coffee. Though many farmers are trying to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, they face many challenges. Among the challenges, the bigest are finding the market and export logistics

That’s where we come in. We help farmers fulfill their dreams by finding a market for their coffee and taking care of the export process.

Price Transparency

We charge 12% of the export price and pass most of the value to the farmers. We cover marketing, final grading and shipment processing cost. We send samples out to potential buyers, and negotiate price on the farmers behalf. Contracts are accepted only when the farmer agrees with the sale price. The coffees are sold under the farmers’ name. We work as a legal representative to handle quality check and facilitate the export process.
Transparency won’t get as simple as this.

Traceability

We are determined to provide you with single farm – single farmer coffees with detailed insights on the coffee’s origin down to the State, Zone, Woreda, Kebele, Neighborhood and Farm level.

Quality

We promise to connect you with passionate coffee producers who produce exceptional Ethiopian coffees. Among our partners are some of the top 10 finalists on COE Ethiopia 2020
